Chapter 57. Bane Keeper

Maureen's POV

Lance held my hands above my head and looked deep into my eyes.

'You know better than to threaten me like that Maureen,' he said. 

'You were doing your thing with Cybil, what do you expect me to do, applaud you?' I asked with anger still in my voice.

Do you mean you want to allow other people to touch what is mine?' 

'You allowed that whore to touch what is mine. Why can't I do the same?' I asked defiantly.

Lance didn't say anything anymore. He simply took my lips with his. At first, I felt reluctant to reciprocate his kisses but as it became more intense, I had no option but to yield to him.

He kissed me so hard as if he was trying to convey a message. I felt my insides melt. 

'I will make love to you then mark you so that the whole pack and every wolf will know you are mine,' Lance said into my ears after he had removed his lips from mine.
