Chapter 10. Virgin

Eryn’s POV

I am stunned by my brother’s words. Is he actually going to leave me here with Kyle? What if all of this was just a joke on Kyle’s part, and he actually doesn’t want me?

I am breathing heavily. I don’t know if it is because of the kiss or the panic rising in my chest as I watch my brother walk away. I unwrap my legs from Kyle’s waist, expecting him to set me back on the ground, but he doesn’t.

He tightens his arms underneath me and carries me toward the cars. Glancing over his shoulder, I see Jesse standing by the lake with her hands on her hips. She is screaming profanities at Kyle, but he doesn’t stop or turn to look at her. He is a man on a mission.

Stopping outside of his SUV, he opens the passenger door and sits me inside. He reaches across me and makes sure I am buckled in before he gets in the driver’s side. He doesn’t say a word to me as he races down the gravel driveway.
