Chapter 71. My Princess

Atticus’s POV

I come down for breakfast for the first time in a week. Cassie and Jackson look up when I enter and give each other a weird glance, but no one else seems to notice that I have been missing.

I grab a plate and fill it with food before looking for a place to sit. I notice the prisoner from the Twilight Pack sitting alone in the corner. He has put on a little weight since I brought him here. There is some color in his cheeks, and his hazel eyes are clear.

No one is sitting near him, and I can only assume it is because of the scars that cover his body. They do make him look intimidating. I take my plate and sit down across from him. He looks up in my direction, but he doesn’t meet my eyes.

“How are you settling in?” I grumble.

“Everyone is nice,” he mumbles in return.

I look around me and chuckle. “You don’t have to lie just because I am the Alpha.”

He looks up at me, and there is amusement behind his eyes. “Everyone is scar
