I've never felt such relief at being liberated from the burden of Alex and his pack. The thrill of my escape feels almost unreal, and I'm still in disbelief that I managed to pull it off. I'm currently on the highway, making it impossible for anyone to track me down.

As planned, I discovered the phone and map that Jonas had assured me would be in the car's storage compartment. After a swift check on WhatsApp, I located the link to the apartment sent by Jonas. The route description indicated that I'd need to travel across New York toward Brooklyn via the Manhattan Bridge. However, I'm not in any hurry to reach the apartment just yet.
