When I opened my eyes my head was heavy. The feel of alcohol still stung my throat. I sat up on the bed and held my head in my hands.

Damn… I chuckled to myself. The memories of last night came flooding back to me—Layla and Ezra, the company.

Before I could think about it, my phone vibrated. I made a lazy reach towards it before the flood of notifications stopped me. Headlines, messages, calls—all saying the same thing.

“Orion Black’s company under investigation.”

“Fraud and unsafe construction revealed.”

“Black Properties stock tumbles overnight.”

I blinked, looking at the screen as though the words would transform into something different. My company was under investigation, and now it was everywhere.

“What the hell is this?” I whispered tightly gripping the phone.
