Orion’s POV
I drove like a lunatic, tires screaming out as I took one corner after another. My heart thudded against my chest, louder than the cry of the engine. I couldn’t think straight—not when Layla was out there, so far from me.
I had been under the delusion, that I was in control, I had been handling my life like a business deal. But with grace, she got through the cracks, and Layla was paying.
I slammed on the brakes in front of an old warehouse, gripping the steering wheel. I was out of breath. No leads. No names. Just a burner chat app and a trail of payments.
Grace didn’t have a clue about where they took her, she said it again and again after I stormed back into the house when I realized that I had no hint where she was.
