Chapter 101. Exhausted
I carried our trash from the kitchen to dispose of it outside. Our house was gradually becoming more orderly, but I never stopped saving. I continued with my savings because it had been years, and Amari was growing up.
I paused in the middle of tying my hair when I spotted the familiar car parked outside. I never expected it to still be around. Quickly, I entered the house and locked the door. I smiled at Amari, who looked at me curiously, probably wondering why I had closed the door so firmly.
"Let's go to your room," I told him. He obediently followed.
"Mama needs to take a shower. I feel sweaty. Stay inside and play here. Don't go out to the living room," I instructed him.
"Mama, I miss Daddy," he suddenly said, catching me off guard.
