Chapter 102. Secret
It was already afternoon, and both of us were watching cartoons on my cell phone. We didn't have anything else to watch.
"Amari," I tried to get her attention but she didn't even bother to look at me.
"Mama?" she asked innocently.
I pursed my lips, making her finally turn her gaze toward me. She was too focused on what she was watching. She might as well ignore me! "What did you say, dear? I'm sorry," she said.
"Would you be angry if I had a secret I wasn't telling you?" I repeated my earlier question.
Her little eyebrows furrowed. "It depends, Mama. What is your secret?"
I looked at her, and her attention was slowly slipping away again as she turned back to what she was watching.
