Chapter 31. Serenity
I had just settled onto my bed, towel in hand, working to dry my hair when a sudden knock at the door took me by surprise. Despite my initial shock, I decided to open it, revealing an unexpected visitor – Roy.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, my nerves tingling, and I quickly glanced around my room, worried that someone might catch sight of him.
"Come on," he urged, extending an invitation and then gently pulling me out of the room. With no other choice, I left my bedroom door ajar and carried the small towel with me, used to dry my hair.
"Where are we headed?" I questioned a hint of anxiety in my voice.
"Just trust me," he replied, swiftly starting the car, which roared to life.
"Roy," I whispered nervously, my eyes darting around, my apprehension growing that someone might spot us.
He gestured for me to stay silent and smoothly drove away. The hour was late, and drowsiness began to creep over me. I had spent an extended period in the bathroom
