Chapter 99. Dinner
There was no one else who would knock there except for the one person responsible for the heavy bags under my eyes.
"Someone's here," they called.
I sighed, then opened the door.
I was greeted by the overpowering scent of their cologne, and their hair was still wet as if they had just showered.
"Pastries," they said, handing me a paper bag.
I gave them a skeptical look.
"I just wanted to drop these off. I have to go to work," they explained.
"Have you eaten?" I hesitantly asked, my reluctance showing. It was strange for me to be concerned like this.
"Not yet, but I'll grab something on my way to the office."
I nodded in response. They didn't stay long, and soon, I was left alone in the house with Amari.
