Chapter 107

Valeria's POV

Footsteps coming down the stairs. With a smile on my face, I walked towards the bars and waited. A few seconds later, Brownie appeared in front of me, food in hand.

"What's for today?" I asked excitedly.

He handed me the bag and said, "Look for yourself." This time I found grapes, a muffin, a granola bar, and water. I accepted the bag with a grin.

“Mine.”

Just before Jaden was about to leave, I took my chance and held him. “What are you doing?” he asked me.

"We still have two minutes," I said.

Jaden looked nervously between me and the stairs.

"Come on," I begged, after a long thought and a "Okay" from him, I had won the discussion and thanked him with a simple "Thank you."

I ate a few grapes, took a bite of my muffin, and watched him. He seemed nervous and kept looking at the stairs so I had to distract him.

I broke the silence between us. "How long have I been here?" I asked Jaden.
