Alec's POV

When we left the ball because she had also left, I put a few of my guards on her. You should find out more information about her. When we left I was almost sad but still relieved. In the hope that she would also be eligible to be chosen as a companion on her 16th birthday, I had to count the years until that happened.

During the 10 years I waited for her, I tried to find out everything about her. Who she is, what family she comes from, and what pack she belongs to. But nothing was to be found. It was as if she didn't exist.

When I asked people where they came from after I was finally able to trace their scent to a city, I was only assured that there were no girls here who weren't selected and I was sure to find them at the ball.
