Valeria's POV

After Alec left my room, I couldn't get back to sleep. On the one hand because of this terrible dream that I couldn't forget and on the other hand, because I was afraid it would come true. The way Alec dragged me into the basement, whipped me, and then finally strangled me until I suffocated was horrible.

And then I woke up and who was standing in front of me? Alec is the one responsible for all of this. I sat down in bed and clutched my bent knees. Hot tears streamed down my cheeks, but as much as I wanted to, I couldn't stop them.

I didn't know what time it was and I didn't know how long I was in this state of shock. I didn't want to get up, didn't want to leave the room, didn't want to meet him. I would have liked to wait here until night falls again to run away.
