Chapter 27
Zea's POV
My thoughts were with Phoenix. About an hour ago everything happened very quickly: Cole couldn't hold back from attacking Phoenix, who was furious and could barely defend himself under Cole's hard blows.
I stood there screaming at my best friend to let him go, which only finally happened when Phoenix was somewhere between conscious and unconscious on the floor of the pack house.
It had broken my heart to see him lying there so defenseless and immobile and knowing that I was to blame for his injuries. It was all my fault. That Phoenix was bad now, that Cole was bad, even that I was bad.
Cole hadn't given me any time to look after Phoenix's health, but had immediately thrown me over his shoulder and carried me through the forest at lightning speed.
