Xavier's POV
I ran over to her, knelt on the floor, and turned her onto her back. I felt her pulse, which was barely noticeable. I checked her breathing, which was more difficult than normal, and her heart also sounded unusually quiet. Her forehead was burning hot, making me boil inside. That damn stubborn thing! So I picked her up, carried her outside, and shortly afterward started running with her in my arms.
Inwardly I cursed both her and myself. She, for her stubbornness and the fact that she took herbs without knowing the effects. And me, for my negligence in letting this all happen.
