Amber's POV

When I had to decline Myrtle and Juan's invitation to lunch, I grimaced and expressed my regret. I have such a strong desire to travel. Merci had a really useful suggestion when she said, "Leave the stupid pack out to die; go to lunch with friends."

"We're the Alpha of said stupid pack' now; we've got to take care of them," I gently reminded her.

She spoke incoherently for a moment before retreating to her room for a nap. You got lucky, cretin. Since the conflict was over, I have been the Alpha of these cretinous bastards, but now that Juan and I have mated, our packs will merge into a single family. And this business of merging is a lot more work than it should be, but Sally has been a godsend. Yeah, this is the first time I've used her name in a context where it's not a pun.
