Chapter 29. Distracted by His Desires (1)
Jethro locked his gaze on Hadley as they sat in a five-star restaurant waiting for a possible investor. However, the investor said that he had been involved in a car accident on his way. Hadley, on the other hand, could no longer bear her hunger. Thus, she ordered food for herself.
“Are you not hungry?” Hadley asked.
Jethro had recently noticed Hadley’s abrupt change. He couldn’t figure out why she was smiling so much more than usual. The Hadley he knew was too preoccupied with her career.
“I’m not hungry yet,” Jethro explained. Even so, he had no desire to eat here. His stomach was extremely sensitive to raw salmon.
“Don’t starve yourself,” Hadley advised.
She was previously unconcerned about the people around her, but she became more attentive today.
“Wait for me. I will order for you,” Hadley insisted.
“No, Doc! I’ll eat after the investor arrives!” Jethro stopped Hadley before she could even call the waiter.
