Chapter 12. We Have to Leave

Ryder POV

A knock came at the closed door, it was soft, but as time went on, it became aggressive. I groaned and stirred around, disturbed.

Believe me, I am fucking going to snap the person’s head into two. Who could possibly be here this early morning?

I sighed and opened my eyes, and they fell on the beautiful angel who had her back turned to me. She had her eyes shut, but I could tell she wasn’t sleeping. I pushed off the pillows she had placed between us last night to avoid body contact. As much as that pisses me off, I let it be. I don’t think I can control myself either. It was hard sleeping, let alone having our bodies touch.

I trailed my finger along her cheeks, pushing her hair back. Wow, I felt her body tense up. I love how her body reacts under my touch, it’s heaven.

Those stories they told about mates were all true, it makes one feel alive. It was hard holding Valkar back from marking her yesterday.
