I shut my eyes and dragged in a sharp breath.

“Look, son,” Queen Rebecca’s voice oozed out. She has come with her manipulation.

“I understand you, but sometimes love is not enough. Think about your people, sometimes we have to forfeit our own happiness and time just to make it right,” she said, and I balled my fists, moving my face away from her.
