Leah growled in my head.

And tears welled up in my eyes. He remembered us?

“I am sorry, Nina. I know no amount of sorry will erase what happened but I deeply sorry,” he blurted, his eyes turning glassy.

But I remained unmoved. My mind reels at the idea that if I haven’t escaped, if Logan and others haven’t helped me to escape by now I am likely to be dead. And that’s when my swollen eyes swept disappointedly at Aurora who was standing by my side. “You let them in?”

Her eyes widened and she instantly raised her hands up in apology when cautiously drawing back. “Honestly, I opened my back door and saw them standing there. I can’t say no to them,”

“More like you can’t say no to Logan!” I spat and she sighed, her shoulder slumping. “ Fine. Anyone,” she rolled her eyes and stepped away.

Logan offered me a small smile and left with Aurora. And I was left alone with Ryder.
