Chapter 42. The Beach
Third-Person POV
Mavis wrapped his strong arms around Isabel and carried her up the stairs of the yacht, like a prince carrying his princess. Isabel felt weightless in his embrace as if she were floating on air.
They reached the top of the stairs and Mavis gently set her down, never breaking their gaze.
Mavis’s eyes never left Isabel’s as he descended the stairs, his fingers holding the zipper of his jeans in place. He reached the bottom of the stairs and dashed to the other side of the room, reaching for a small box that was hidden under a chair. He picked it up and hurried back up the stairs, his heart pounding in his chest.
Isabel’s eyes followed his every move, her curiosity growing with each passing moment. She couldn’t help but wonder what was in the box
