Chapter 80. You Have to Let Me Go

Emma’s POV

As we stepped out of the packhouse, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I was finally leaving the pack, and it’s painful memories behind. But my relief was short-lived.

Guards appeared out of nowhere, surrounding us in a semicircle. “I’m afraid you’re not going anywhere,” one of the guards growled, his eyes fixed on me.

Bennett, Hunter, and Parker instinctively moved closer towards me, forming a protective barrier around me.

“What’s going on here?” Bennett demanded, his voice firm.

The guard sneered. “The Alpha orders. You’re not to leave the pack. Especially not with… her.”

My heart sank. The Alpha was still adamant to let me go even after what we talked about earlier? He knew that the members of the pack would continue to hate me because I was half-blood, so why was he stopping me from leaving when I wanted to?
