Lisa's POV

Anxiousness is a strange feeling. When your stomach contracts into knots and your breathing becomes shaky. When you can't get a word out, your body stunned into silence by the situation. That was how I felt.

He was coming, that's all I knew. I didn't have the heart to tell Alex, I knew that he would go all protective gorilla on me if he knew.

'But he could protect you from him.' my wolf whispers.

"That doesn't mean anything." I snap, "He can't find out. He can't know my history."

'Like it would be so bad? Our mate deserves to know.' she argues.

"He'll fly off the handle. You know what he'll do." I whisper.

'You know that he'll find out eventually right?' she questions.

"Of course I know this." I growl, "He just doesn't need to know about this right now."

'You mean about the fact that you are practically his?' she says.

"I'm not his." I spit.
