Chapter 41

Third-Person POV

Faith quickly arranged the things on the table. She looked at herself for a moment to check if she still looked presentable. She touched up a little and then decided to leave the office. The pastry shop she owned included a coffee shop where customers could dine in. Her husband had given it to her as a gift when he noticed how much she loved baking.

Faith immediately saw her best friend and approached her. Celine was with someone, but she couldn’t see who because their backs were turned.

“It’s good to see you out of your office,” Celine said before standing up and kissing her on the right cheek.

“I was fixing something inside. Just finished.” After saying that, she looked at the other companions. Her eyes widened when she recognized them. “Grace? Jackie?” she asked.

The two smiled widely, then hugged her. She couldn’t believe that after so many years she was seeing her high school friends again, with Celine.
