Jake’s POV
“It’s not complicated,” I said, my voice firm. “You either treat everyone equally and fairly, or you don’t. There’s no room for favoritism or discrimination.”
Alpha Meyer looked at me, his eyes searching mine. “You’re right.” He said.
“I’ve made mistakes in the past, and I’m not proud of them.” Alpha Meyer said, his voice soft.
“But I’m trying to do better, for the sake of the pack and the future of our community. It’s a learning process, and I’m not perfect. But I am trying.”
I looked at him as he said those words and felt bad for Milan, who had been rejected and then banished from the only place she had ever known as home.
