Jake’s POV

Years Later...

It has been years now and there hasn’t been traces of Milan anywhere. I had searched and searched for her everywhere but there was no sign of her or her scent anywhere.

I sat on my desk thinking deeply of how I would be able to find my mate who had been long lost for many years.

She must have given birth.

I wondered if she gave birth to a boy or a girl.

The thought of not being there for her when she needed me only made me feel worse.

Just then, Maxwell entered my office.

“Alpha,” he said, his voice breaking into my thoughts. “I’m sorry to bother you, but there is a matter that requires your attention.”

I looked up from my desk, trying to shake off the thoughts of Milan. “What is it, Maxwell?” I asked, hoping that it was something that would occupy my mind and keep me from dwelling on things I couldn’t change.
