Chapter 13. Birthday Party

Milan’s POV

I shook my head and tried to change the topic.

“Today is your birthday little angel. What do you want to do and where do you want to go?”

My daughter’s eyes lit up at my question. “I want to go to the amusement park! Please, please, please?” she begged, her face full of excitement.

“But I thought you wanted to throw a birthday party at home to win friends. Why the sudden change of heart, my darling?” I asked her.

My daughter bit her lip and looked down at her feet, her excitement deflating a little.

“I still want to have a birthday party, but I also want to go to the amusement park,” she said, a hint of pleading in her voice. “It’s my birthday wish, please?” she said as she came close and held my hand.

I couldn’t help but give in to her pleading eyes. “Alright, we’ll go to the amusement park,” I said, making her jump up and down with joy. “But that would be after the birthday party. Okay?”
