Chapter 51. The Best Advice

Milan’s POV

I was surprised by his words, but I appreciated them deeply. It was so refreshing to hear someone say that my needs were just as important as theirs. “Thank you, Alpha Jake,” I said, with genuine gratitude. “I appreciate that.”

“You’re very welcome,” he said, his tone warm and sincere. “And remember, we’re friends, first and foremost. I care about you as a person, not just as a potential romantic partner. I hope you can always feel comfortable being yourself around me.”

I felt a wave of relief wash over me. It was so liberating to hear him say that and to know that he truly saw me as a friend. “Thank you,” I said, my voice a bit shaky from emotion. “I appreciate that more than you know.”

With a final smile, he turned and left the room, closing the door behind him. As I sat there, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. I realized that I had just experienced a rare moment of true understanding and connection, and I felt grateful for it.
