Milan’s POV
It was Jake. He entered but didn’t say a word.
“I want to ask you something,” he said, breaking the silence between us.
“What is it?” I asked, curious as to what he wanted to ask me.
“Do you think that we could be more than just Ava’s parents?” he asked, looking at me with a mixture of hope and trepidation. “I know we’re not mates, and I don’t expect us to be. But I can’t help but feel a connection to you, Milan. Do you feel it too?”
I was taken aback by his question, but I knew he was being genuine. I had felt the same connection to him, but I wasn’t sure what to make of it.
“I... I think we do have a connection,” I said slowly, choosing my words carefully.
“Then, let’s go on 10 dates and see if you will find me mate worthy,” he said.
I chuckled.
“Mate worthy?”
“It’s just a joke,” he said with a laugh. “I’m not trying to pressure you into anything. I just want to spend more time with you, get to know you
