Chapter 14. Forever with You

“Why do you keep doing that?” He asks, pointing to my face.

“Doing what?” I ask innocently.

“Lying. You have an awful habit of hiding things when you’re nervous,” He replies.

“I’m not lying,” I argue. “I am nervous, but not because I’m afraid of you. I trust you completely, Ethan. That’s why I’m asking you to marry me.” I looked him in the eye. He hesitates and then nods.

“Ok, then let’s get married.” He says softly. I smile brightly at him and wrap my arms around his neck.

“Yes! I love you so much,” I exclaim happily. He kisses me deeply. I could get used to this.

We spent the rest of the evening talking, cuddling, and watching the fireworks float overhead. Eventually, Ethan falls asleep in my lap and I gently wake him up. I pull him up from the ground and into my arms.
