Chapter 56

"So," I broke away from the kiss. "Why don't I show you to our room?"
I led him out of the room, and down the hallway, hoping I wouldn't get lost. I didn't.
Once we were safely within 'our' room, he tried groping me, and pulling me close to him, but I held out my hand. My breaths came out in shallow pants.
He had taken my confession calmer than I had expected. And it was better I told him about the miscarriage while we were at it.
A concern made its way into his eyes. "What's wrong love?"
My confidence left me, and I took a step back. "I have something else to tell you." I lowered my head, unable to meet his gaze.
"Can it wait?" I felt the urgency in his tone. An urgency that matched mine. Ever since I smelt his scent again, my wolf had been restless within me. We had missed him so much.
"I'm afraid it can't." If I didn't tell him now, I wasn't sure I'd do so later.
"Look at me, Amber." He
