Chapter 48. The Warning

Daisy’s POV

It’s been two weeks now... two weeks since I came to the palace. And you For the first time since the full moon, I’m not having those nightmares. The ones that made me wake up in a cold sweat, my heart racing like it was going to burst out of my chest. The ones that made me feel trapped and helpless.

They are gone. And in their place, I feel... peace. It is a strange feeling, one that I’m not quite used to yet. But it is nice. It is like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders like I can finally breathe again.

I don’t know what the future holds, or what dangers may still be lurking in the shadows. But for now, I’m just grateful for this small mercy. This chance to heal, to recover, to rediscover myself.

I think the nightmares stopped, because I’m here, close to Alaric. Maybe everything he said is true, and we do have a special connection.
