Chapter 36. Desperation
Madison’s POV
My heart clenched. Mendy could be said to be my best friend, and she had been by my side since I got here. Her company had kept me from entering into depression due to loneliness.
My hand trembled violently when I remembered what would happen after the fever.

I gathered the folds of my gown in my hands as I followed the maid and practically ran towards the servants’ headquarters without a word.
