Chapter 38. Validation
Madison’s POV
My pulse quickened as the rustling became even louder, causing my knuckles to turn white as I gripped the branch in my hold tighter.
A familiar figure emerged from the shadows of the large trees. When I sighted who it was, relief washed over like a tide and the grip on the beach loosened.
“You scared me.” I exclaimed fearfully, still feeling the rush of emotions from earlier as my legs weakened under me.
Alec had an apologetic expression on his usually serious face, “I apologize. Are you okay?”
Alec reached out his hand to me, and I took it without hesitation, then he helped me up.
“Why are you alone? Didn’t Arthur accompany You?” He asked with a hint of doubt in his voice.
I winced as I stood on my feet, “He left.”
“Left?” He repeated, seemingly in disbelief. “The Alpha told him to accompany you, right? I saw him on my way, and I thought you probably requested him to help you with something.”
