Chapter 37. Breakthrough

Madison’s POV

I found the cure.

Outside my chambers stood three guards, including the young guard, who I finally found to be Ryan.

“Ryan, is Raymond back?”

Ryan’s face was drained of all color and his straight shoulders were slumped dispiritedly, same goes with the others.

He replied, “The Alpha is back, but the healers he invited were unable to find anything. The people have started requesting another Alpha and the elders have started making their stance clear. Alpha Raymond…” He hesitated slightly, but still said, “He might not last long.”

No way.

“Take me to him.” I merely said, and the three did not hesitate to lead the way.

As we walked along the bright corridors, and towards Raymond’s chambers, my gaze fell on two figures at the far end of the corridor, right at the entrance of Raymond’s chamber.

Raymond and… Arthur.

Arthur was the first one to see me, and his lips curled into a mocking lopsided smile.
