Chapter 47. Banquet
Madison’s POV
The first ray of dawn filtered through the windows and onto my face. I stirred gently underneath the thick quilt covering my lower body and blinked my eyes open before letting out a satisfied yawn.
A soft knock echoed against the wooden door, and I sighed, “Come in.”
I was replied to by the creak of the door, and a familiar petite figure came into my view.
“My lady.” Her soft, bubbly voice came.
It was Mendy.
I flung the covers away and rushed towards her barefoot, closing the distance between us.
“You are awake!” I gasped, before pulling her into a bear hug, nearly squishing her small frame in mine.
Mendy went stiff, her hands remained still beside her and I finally withdrew.
My eyes scanned her body, taking in the sight of her ruddy cheeks and upright figure. She, who had once been unable to sit upright not to talk or stand, was now in front of me - hale and healthy.
