Chapter 108
Myles POV
I sat on the bike with the engine still running and with my hands tight on the bars in contemplation while the car lay upside down in the ditch and flames licked out from under the hood and fuel ran like a dark river down the slope. Davies fought with the door on the driver’s side while his partner was still slumped.
I told myself to leave and that I could just ride off and no one would ever know I was here, but the heat from the car was unsettling, and I heard Davies shouting for help while the fire was growing fast. If I left now, they would both burn.
I sighed and parked the bike, and then adjusted my mask as I ran to the wreck.
“Get him out!” Davies yelled when he saw me.
I grabbed the door with him, and the metal scraped, but we got it open a little. The man inside was out cold, so I slid my arms under his shoulders and pulled while Davies dragged from the other side, and we fell back with him just as the flames reached the gas lin
