Chapter 22
Murphy POV
I walked through the big steel door, letting it slam shut behind me. The noise echoed in the dead silence. My black coat, heavy like a shadow, swirled around my legs. The Dead Revenants MC clubhouse went completely still. Every eye turned toward me.
People stopped talking. Bottles were set down quietly. Even the music from the jukebox in the corner stopped when someone turned it off. The air was thick with the smell of old whiskey, motor oil, and sweat.
I looked around the room but didn’t pay attention to the club’s newer members or lower-ranking guys. My eyes went straight to the long table at the far end, where my top guys sat waiting. They always waited for me.
