Serena POV
Now I don’t claim to be a pro at reading people, but at least I could understand people to some extent. I could tell that Myles was more than serious at the moment. To him, he wasn’t talking to a fiancée or, rather, a pretend fiancée anymore. He was talking to a business partner in a very serious business.
I knew I was toeing the line with my sarcasm. I realized that one more push and I’d unleash his anger. Myles, in his mysterious ways, struck me as a man you wouldn’t want to antagonize, so I kept quiet.
“I want the wedding to happen as soon as possible. Maybe next week.” He finally blurted out.
