Serena POV

“You’ve received half the agreed-upon amount of money for completing half the agreement. You will receive the other half after our supposed marriage.”

I read the text silently. It was a text from Myles, but what really caught my attention was the sms alert that had come with the message, a credit alert of twenty million dollars transferred into my account.

I stared at the numbers in silence with my heart pounding rapidly. This was money I had never seen before, and even though this was just half of the agreed amount, this was quite enough to solve eighty percent of my problems.

I heaved a sigh of relief and looked at the phone again in silence. As cold as he was, I was actually expecting him to send the money only after the six months we’d agreed on, but I was happy that he sent at least half.

By the time I finished dressing up, I decided to pay my mom a visit at the hospital. I finally arrived at the hospital, and after paying the dri
