Myles POV

The door to Conference Room B swung open as I stepped inside. The room was set up just as it always was, sharp and efficient. A long, dark table dominated the middle with a few chairs surrounding it.

Damian Royce, my Client Relationship Manager, was seated at the far end of the table. His expression was unreadable, but I knew him well enough to recognize the slight tension in his shoulders. Or maybe he was still brooding over our discussion earlier.

Sue Summers, our lead paralegal, sat on his right with her eyes locked onto the digital tablet in front of her. Jean Boyega, her counterpart, was on her left, furiously scribbling notes in his ever-present notebook.

Ned Fisher, one of our senior associates, was leaning back in his chair with arms crossed and a bored look on his face, yet I could sense the subtle anticipation in his posture.
