Serena POV

What exactly was I even expecting? I mean, did I really believe that it’ll be all fun and games living in the same house with Myles Voss? The Ice King? Hah! I must have been dreaming or something, and now it was time to wake up from that dream and face reality.

Believe it or not, tears threatened to fall from my eyes as Myles turned away from me and left the house, banging the door in his wake. That was really cold and heartless of him. Just the day before, he had been giving me mixed signals until I had to open up my feelings to him in the car, and the moment I did, I noticed that he suddenly became colder.

“Everything alright?”

I almost jumped when the voice came right behind me. It was his aunt, Greta. I hastily wiped my eyes and did what I could to look okay before turning.

“Hey… Aunt Greta. Trust you slept well.” I said with a smiley face, hoping against hope that she didn’t see beneath the facade.
