Chapter 75

Myles POV

“Hi, Boss.”

Dean called nervously. I ignored him and focused on Knox instead.

“You should have remained with Serena,” I spoke flatly.

“But instead of doing that, I took her to a fortress where nothing and no one would touch her, you’re welcome.” He replied with a shrug.

“I’m sorry about everything, Boss.” Dean chirped in quickly, desperate for me to acknowledge him. “I really didn’t know…”

“I need to get out of this place.”

I moved forward, and Knox was already holding the door open. I didn’t hesitate but quickly slid into the back seat while both of them took the front seats with Dean behind the wheel and Knox riding shotgun.

For a while, we drove in silence with each one of us occupied with his thoughts. I knew this was just the beginning, they wouldn’t stop coming after me or Serena until they got what they wanted. I had to be extra careful from now henceforth.
