Myles POV

“Myles!” Aunt Greta gushed while pulling me into a suffocating hug. “I was starting to think you’d avoid me forever.”

I really didn’t like hugs. They make you look and feel vulnerable, I didn’t want to look weak and definitely not in front of Serena but again aunt Greta was my favourite aunt and I’d always had a soft spot for her too so…

I barely had the energy to fake a smile. Work had been a nightmare with endless meetings, putting out fires my workers incompetence kept starting and now I still had to deal with this.

“Course not, Auntie,” I muttered while quickly peeling myself free. My gaze flicked to Serena standing stiffly by the kitchen counter. She hadn’t moved an inch since I walked in.

Aunt Greta beamed between us.

“I came by to finally get to know your lovely wife properly. You’ve been hiding her from us!”

Serena’s fingers tensed around the cup she was holding and I ground my jaw.

“Yeah. Busy schedules.”
