Chapter 27
Damien was desperately waiting for answers to all his questions because he needed them, at least at this moment, to stay sane. But she seemed to be stringing him along. Then she looked straight at him, her arms crossed and her eyes filled with accusations.
“Don’t look at me as if I’m just saying this off the top of my head. Isn’t it convenient that the moment I’m trying to get a deal from another big company, a bunch of goons start following me around?”
“But that doesn’t mean they’re from my company. Maybe there’s another reason they’re following you. Haven’t you considered that?”
