Damien wouldn’t have been able to believe his eyes if somebody else had told him what was about to happen. He might have thought that they were simply crazy, to say the least. But it wasn’t an illusion, and it wasn’t craziness.
Cassandra’s father was holding a knife, pulling it out from his pocket and looking at it with menacing intent, which made Damien worry for Cassandra instantly. He asked the middle-aged man if he actually intended to attack his daughter.
Sylvester told him that Cassandra had handled more than this, so she could definitely take it. But it would be enough to discipline her and force her back into her normal form.
Damien could feel his heart beating like a drum as he watched Sylvester messing around with the knife, scraping it against the ground so that it was sharpening itself as it was being rubbed against the concrete over and over again. He watched in complete disbelief, not thinking that Sylvester would actually go ahead and attack his own
