Chapter 8
Allison
It was a Thursday morning. She had woken up on the wrong side of bed, groaning, her head pounding once again like a nail was getting drilled in it.
Her mom had stopped by just to check on them.
“Where is he?” she asked.
“Who are you talking about?” Allison placed her hand on her forehead, massaging it.
“The bodyguard, obviously.”
“He’s on his way,” she said, “probably.”
She couldn’t tell her he was not coming for that day.
Pamela had met him only twice. Allison was surprised her mom didn’t remember Davis. He hadn’t changed so much in 4 years, but she understood why she didn’t know him. When they were dating years ago, she had been discreet with him, and her mom only saw him once.
“He’s so good-looking,” her mother whispered.
They were sitting at the dining table eating lunch her mom invited them over because she said she wanted to meet the bodyguard they hired.
