Allison

The disturbing sight she had seen in her office was still terrifying her, even though some days had passed. She never stopped thinking about it because she couldn’t get it off her mind. She still didn’t know who would do such a thing or why they wanted to do it.

The only thing that made her feel better was Davis had never left her side since then.

The words he had said to her echoed in her head.

“Everything is going to be okay.”

She wanted to believe him, but she was scared deep down, knowing things were not going to be fine.

Ever since that day, Davis stayed with her officially. They would sleep on the same bed and even when she felt weird about it, it was comfortable. She was beginning to gain her trust back for him, but she didn’t want to. She knew she was going to get hurt, later on. It always happened.

She had taken a break from her office work until everything settled down. She told her mom she needed the break, and she approve
