Chapter 122. The Fallen Pack
Alpha Logan's POV
The world around me was in a haze. A muddle of shadows and indistinct shapes slowly resolved into a coherent picture as I slowly found myself regaining consciousness.
There was a sharp, metallic taste in my mouth. Pain surged through my entire body, a deep and bone-aching pain. It was a reminder to me that I had come close to death. A reminder that I was alive.
Blinking, my eyes slowly got accustomed to the harsh light of dawn filtering through the windows.
My mind was slow, clouded by the remnants of whatever herbs had been used to numb the worst of the pain. It takes a while for the last of the memories to flood back—screams, snarls, ripping and shredding sounds, the clash of bodies accompanied by thuds as they fell to the stony floors…
My eyelids fluttered open fully, the effort it took feeling like lifting a mountain, and I am met with a fairly lit room.
