Chapter 66. Shattered Innocence
Lillian's POV
My gaze lowered to my feet and I bit my lower lip while gripping on the hem of my dress with both hands. “I am sorry father.” Tears glistened in my eyes.
There was something dark lurking in my father's eyes that scared me…taking me back to that day.

[Flashback: Over ten years ago]
It was the middle of the night. I was suddenly awakened by the sound of a loud crash.
In tiptoes, my tiny feet moved, out of my room, and then down the stairs only to find my parents in the middle of a violent confrontation.
At dinner earlier, I had noticed the tension between them. They were usually so lovey dovey, so much that it was nauseating but back then, they had seemed distant. None of them had said a word to each other the entire dinner —they were usually so chatty around each other.
